Welcome to the Maine Council on Aging (MCOA).
We are changing the conversation about growing old in Maine. Join us as we reimagine our communities, workplaces and systems of care so that older Mainers can thrive in their communities!
MCOA is a broad, membership-based network of over 60 organizations and businesses working to promote the safety, independence and well-being of all older adults in Maine, especially those who are most vulnerable.
At MCOA, we believe that it goes without saying that our older adults are valuable members of our communities and vital contributors to our economy. MCOA works hard to ensure our laws and policies support older adults aging well in their homes and communities.
MCOA believes in a Maine that values and honors the lives and experiences of older adults and provides choices and opportunity for them to thrive in their communities.
To build a strong, multidisciplinary network--representing the entire aging continuum--that works to improve the lives of older adults in Maine, especially those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged, to act as a voice for older adults and the organizations that serve them, and to promote the safety, independence and well-being of older adults.
